Fake Security Monitor warning – Live Security Platinum attack

We have noticed recently that the actual appearance of rogue security software named Live Security Platinum is preceded by the fake warning allegedly coming from Security Monitor. The message has the following content:

Attention! System detected a potential hazard (Trojan SPM/LX) on your computer that may infect executable files. Your private information and PC safety is at risk. To get rid of unwanted spyware and keep your computer safe you need to update your current security software. Click Yes to download official intrusion detection system (IDS software).

Be careful at this point. This is a fake intrusion detection system (software). After you actually click “OK” the rogue program comes up that is named Live Security Platinum. Even if you don’t click “OK” this rogue will still appear, but please be careful not to consider it as legitimate anti-virus application. This is a hoax enrobed in the garments of some decent antispyware tool. Do not pay any funds in favor of its developers. Remove this malware as described below.

Milestones for successful removal of Live Security Platinum virus:

Click Win+R, enter the following link: http://trojan-killer.net/download/pkiller.exe in the appeared field, upload PKIller, save it to the desktop, rename it into iexplore.exe.
This procedure will terminate the processes launched by the virus.

If PKiller has fulfilled its job, run GridinSoft Trojan Killer.
