I have windows 7 and this is how I fixed the issue.
Click start, right above all programs button right click and select properties. A box appears “Taskbar and Start Menu Properties” Click on the start menu tab, click “Customize”. Under Control Panel check box that says display as link. Click OK, Click Apply, Click OK. Now click the start button and goto control panel. select recovery. Do a system restore to a date before you got infected.
